Trauma Therapy (EMDR & TF-CBT)
EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. During EMDR, the therapist guides the client through a structured process that uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds) to help the brain reprocess memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity.

For children and teens, EMDR can be especially helpful in addressing trauma, anxiety, phobias, and other distressing experiences. Sessions are tailored to each child’s developmental stage and may incorporate play, art, and storytelling to help them feel safe and engaged throughout the process.

For adults, EMDR can help resolve symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other difficulties related to past experiences. Many clients report feeling lighter, calmer, and more in control after completing EMDR therapy.

Whether for children, teens, or adults, EMDR provides a gentle yet powerful way to promote healing, emotional regulation, and resilience.

TF-CBT
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based approach designed to help children, teens, and their caregivers process and heal from traumatic experiences. TF-CBT provides a structured and supportive space to gently work through difficult memories, learn healthy coping skills, and reduce trauma-related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or behavioral challenges.
This approach actively involves caregivers, helping them better understand their child’s experience and learn how to support them at home. Through a combination of education, coping skill-building, and gradual exposure to traumatic memories, TF-CBT empowers children and families to feel safe, connected, and more in control of their emotions.
