Hi, I’m Amanda! I’m a warm, genuine, and compassionate therapist who loves working with children and families. I’m passionate about creating a space where kids can feel safe, understood, and accepted for exactly who they are. I especially enjoy helping children better understand and express their emotions, build confidence and self-esteem, develop healthy coping skills, and feel more connected to the people around them.

I am passionate about working with children and families navigating anxiety, big emotions, behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, trauma, family changes, and difficulty expressing or communicating emotions. I especially enjoy helping children who may feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to manage what they’re feeling. I also love partnering with parents and caregivers to better understand what may be underneath their child’s behaviors while building practical strategies that strengthen connection, communication, and emotional regulation at home.

My approach to therapy is child-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. I believe connection comes first, and I know that kids don’t always have the words to explain what they’re thinking or feeling. That’s why I love incorporating creativity, play, and engaging activities into sessions. My goal is for therapy to feel like a place where your child can be themselves while learning new skills and working through challenges at their own pace.

I received my Master of Counseling from West Virginia University in 2021. I am Family Centered Treatment Level 2 certified and draw from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and person-centered care. I tailor therapy to each child and family rather than expecting one approach to work for everyone. I also plan to pursue additional training and certification in Play Therapy as I continue expanding my work with children.
