Elisha Medrano
MA, LCMHCA

Hi, I’m Elisha, MA. LCMHCA , a client-centered therapist dedicated to supporting children (5+), teens, parents, and postpartum mothers.

With an extensive background working with children with special needs, I incorporate play therapy and developmentally appropriate interventions to help young clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. I specialize in emotional regulation, social skills development, and building healthy self-esteem across all ages.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced intentionally. I firmly believe that each client’s well-being comes first. We move at your pace, not mine, and therapy is always a team effort. Whether we’re helping a child learn to express big feelings, supporting a teen through life transitions, or walking alongside a postpartum mother adjusting to new challenges, I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Together, we create a path forward that feels safe, meaningful, and empowering.

Specialities & Experience

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and play-based therapeutic approaches. In my work, I often integrate mindfulness, play, and strengths-based strategies to engage children, adolescents, and adults in meaningful and creative ways. My clinical focus includes supporting emotional regulation, strengthening social skills, and helping clients build confidence and a stronger sense of self.

I received my Master of Arts in General Psychology in 2013 as well as my Master of Arts in Counseling from Capella University in 2025. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked with special needs children in New York and North Carolina. I also have experience working with teens and preschool aged children in the school setting.

Location: Hampstead/Surf City Office

95 H2O Place, Suite 17, Hampstead, NC 28443

We believe that therapy for children and proper support for their caregivers creates an environment for parenting to feel like it matters (because it really does).
